SECTION 1 – OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE

1.1 The purpose of the Jobline platform is to connect non-profit organizations and job seekers easily by maintaining an accessible, accurate and up-to-date database of current paid employment opportunities in the non-profit sector in Edmonton. 

1.2 The Jobline platform is operated by the Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations (ECVO). ECVO offers this platform free of charge to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies and notices stated here.

1.3 By visiting the Jobline platform and/or creating an account, you engage in the use of the platform and agree to be bound by all following terms and conditions, including those additional terms and conditions and policies referenced and/or made available by hyperlink.

1.4 These Terms of Use apply to all users of the platform, including employers, job seekers, and public visitors. 

1.5 Any new features or tools which are added to the current site shall also be subject to the Terms of Use. You can review the most current version of the Terms of Use at any time on this page. We reserve the right to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Use by posting updates and/or changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check this page periodically for updates and revisions. Your continued use of or access to the website following the posting of any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.

SECTION 2 – CONTENT

2.1 You understand that all postings, messages, text, files, or other materials (“Content”) posted on, transmitted through, or linked from the Jobline must adhere to the terms outlined on this page.

2.2 Additionally, you are entirely responsible for all Content that you post or otherwise make available via the Jobline platform. You understand that the Edmonton Chamber of Voluntary Organizations does not control and is not responsible for Content made available through the platform, and that by using the platform, you may be exposed to Content that is offensive, indecent, inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise objectionable.

2.3 You may not engage in any illegal or unauthorized purpose, nor may you violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright and employment laws) by using the Jobline platform.

2.4 You agree not to post, email, or otherwise make available Content:

• 2.4.1 that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, invasive of another’s privacy, or is harmful to others in any way;
• 2.4.2 that harasses, degrades, intimidates or is hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, or disability;
• 2.4.3 that impersonates any person or entity, including but not limited to an ECVO employee, or falsely states or otherwise misrepresents your affiliation with a person or entity;
• 2.4.4 that includes personal or identifying information about another person without that person’s explicit consent;
• 2.4.5 that is false, deceptive, misleading, deceitful, misinformative, or constitutes “bait and switch”;
• 2.4.6 that infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights of any party, or Content that you do not have a right to make available under any law or under contractual or fiduciary relationships;
• 2.4.7 that constitutes or contains “affiliate marketing,” “link referral code,” “junk mail,” “spam,” “chain letters,” “pyramid schemes,” or unsolicited commercial advertisement;
• 2.4.8 that employs misleading email addresses, or forged headers or otherwise manipulated identifiers in order to disguise the origin of Content transmitted through the Service.

2.5 You acknowledge that ECVO does not pre-screen or approve Content, but that the ECVO shall have the right to refuse or delete any Content that is published on the Jobline platform for violating the letter or spirit of the Terms or for any other reason.

SECTION 3 – THIRD PARTY CONTENT, SITES, AND SERVICES 

3.1 The Jobline and Content available through the Service may contain features and functionalities that may link you or provide you with access to third party content which is completely independent of the Jobline and ECVO, including web sites, directories, servers, networks, systems, information and databases, applications, software, programs, products or services, and the Internet as a whole.

3.2 You permit ECVO to share publicly-accessible information from your profile and/or postings, as well as share direct links to your profile and/or postings, through ECVO communications channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and ECVO websites and mailing lists.

3.3 Your interactions with organizations and/or individuals found on or through the Service are solely between you and such organizations and/or individuals.

3.4 You agree that ECVO shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of any such dealings. If there is a dispute between participants on this site, or between users and any third party, you understand and agree that ECVO is under no obligation to become involved.

3.5 In the event that you have a dispute with one or more other users, you hereby release ECVO and its staff and successors of staff from claims, demands and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind or nature, known or unknown, suspected and unsuspected, disclosed and undisclosed, arising out of or in any way related to such disputes and / or our service.

SECTION 4 – USERS, ACCOUNT, PRIVACY, AND SECURITY 

4.1 You understand and agree that you are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account including your password, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

4.2 Upon creation of your account, you understand that the use of the account is pending until confirmed and vetted by ECVO. This is to ensure that only non-profit organizations and charities are using the platform to post employment opportunities.

4.3 Upon confirmation of your account, you understand that ECVO does not vet or oversee any job postings or Content uploaded and published from the account, unless it is brought to our attention for breaching any of the Terms of Use.

4.4 You agree to (a) immediately notify ECVO of any unauthorized use of your Jobline account or any other breach of security, and (b) exit from your account at the end of each session. WorkInNonProfits.ca will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this Section 4.

4.5 You agree to the Jobline’s privacy policies as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

SECTION 5 – TERMINATION OF SERVICE 

5.1 You agree that ECVO, in its sole discretion, has the right to delete or deactivate your account, block your email or IP address, or otherwise terminate your access to or use of the Jobline platform (or any part thereof), immediately and without notice, and remove and discard any Content within the Service, for any reason, including, without limitation, if ECVO believes that you have acted inconsistently with the letter or spirit of the Terms.

SECTION 6 – PROPRIETARY RIGHTS 

6.1 Content displayed on or through the Service is protected by copyright as a collective work and/or compilation, pursuant to copyrights laws, and international conventions.

6.2 Any reproduction, modification, creation of derivative works from or redistribution of the site or the collective work, and/or copying or reproducing the sites or any portion thereof to any other server or location for further reproduction or redistribution is prohibited without the express written consent of ECVO.

6.3 You further agree not to reproduce, duplicate or copy Content from the Service without the express written consent of ECVO, and agree to abide by any and all copyright notices displayed on the Jobline platform.

6.4 You may not decompile or disassemble, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to discover any source code contained in the Service. Without limiting the foregoing, you agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit for any commercial purposes, any aspect of the Jobline platform.

SECTION 7 – DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES 

7.1 You agree the use of the Jobline platform is entirely at your own risk, and we do not guarantee that your use of the platform will be uninterrupted, timely, or error-free. You agree that the Jobline platform is provided on an “as is” or “as available” basis, without any representation, warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including all implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.

7.2 We do not guarantee any results, or provide warranty on said results, stemming from your use of the platform.

7.3 You agree that we may occasionally remove the platform for indefinite periods of time, or shut the platform down permanently, without advance notice to you.
