We are a group of community members who chose to combine our various perspectives, experiences, skills, and knowledge to address racism with an action-oriented focus in our community. Our boxes are designed to address white fragility and promote active allyship. With the support of the Edmonton Shift Lab, we developed the You Need This Box anti-racism subscription service concept to explore creating a lasting legacy of social change through knowledge sharing and understanding. We are currently incorporating as our own non-profit organization.
Our primary activity is the development and distribution of this subscription service to interested individuals across Canada. We currently have subscribers in all provinces and aim to build the service into a sustainable resource to encourage Canadians to become agents of anti-racism in their communities. We are also exploring opportunities for other interventions to support anti-racism in larger systems including education and health care.
