About the EFCL
The Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues (EFCL) is a not-for-profit organization that connects, represents, and enables Edmonton’s 163 Community Leagues. Our mission is to build healthy neighborhoods by engaging, developing, and connecting Edmonton Community Leagues.
Position Summary
Join the EFCL as the Program Officer – Community Infrastructure, a Canada Summer Jobs-funded role where you will contribute to two critical projects. First, you will assist in organizing and analyzing Community League energy consumption data to support efforts to reduce energy use and costs at League facilities. Second, you will develop a standardized set of Community League Hall floor plans and photographs to showcase public spaces available for rental and community use.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in computer-assisted drafting, data analysis, and a passion for sustainable infrastructure and renewable energy.
Please note that this role is anticipated to be funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, so candidates must meet the requirements for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Community League Hall Resource Development
- Communicate professionally with Community Leagues to convey project objectives and gather required information.
- Measure and document gross floor spaces to create professional, accurate floor plans for 26 League halls and adjacent buildings.
- Photograph League spaces to provide potential renters and users with visual insight into available amenities.
- Upload floor plans and photographs to EFCL’s website and the Community Assets database.
- Assess existing floor plans from Leagues and determine if updates or new layouts are necessary.
Energy and Infrastructure Data Management
- Retrieve and organize Community League utility data to benchmark energy consumption and costs.
- Analyze data to identify trends and recommend methods for reducing energy consumption at League facilities.
- Support for a specific type of project: Projects supporting community-based organizations
- Support for a specific type of project: Projects supporting not-for-profit organizations
Collaboration and Support
- Work closely with EFCL’s Deputy Executive Director, Infrastructure and Amenities Advisor, and Climate Resilience Advisor to meet project objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
Required Skills
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software (Excel and Google Sheets) for data analysis.
- Proficiency in computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software.
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite.
Valuable Assets
- Basic knowledge of renewable energy technologies.
- Familiarity with building sciences.
- Photography skills.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must meet Canada Summer Jobs program criteria, including being:
- Between 15 and 30 years of age.
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection.
