Overview
This job is being posted on behalf of the North Glenora Community League (NGCL).
The NGCL Hall and Rink Shack are vital to our community, providing a space for connection and activity. Reporting to the NGCL President, the Hall Maintenance Manager ensures the facilities are safe, well-maintained, and operating effectively. They work closely with volunteers and provide feedback and recommendations regarding building maintenance, policies, and procedures. The role also involves coordinating or conducting maintenance, repairs, renovations, and improvements within an approved budget.
Hours: 40 hours per month (flexible weekly schedule)
Rate: $20/hour
Payment: Monthly
General Duties
Facility Maintenance
- Handle requests for maintenance, inspections, and equipment repairs.
- Complete maintenance tasks as required or coordinate with contractors and volunteers.
- Supervise skilled maintenance volunteers or hire contractors for tasks outside volunteer capacity.
- Manage facility upkeep within an approved budget.
- Monitor and maintain supplies for janitorial staff.
- Arrange and oversee long-term maintenance projects, such as annual repainting and floor waxing.
- Inspect, replace, and maintain the contents of First Aid Kits and AEDs.
- Address vandalism and pest issues promptly.
- Oversee maintenance and repair of appliances and equipment.
- Maintain the facility’s annual maintenance schedule and document deferred maintenance.
Inspections
- Ensure annual and seasonal inspections of the facility are conducted.
- Liaise with the City of Edmonton regarding playground and multi-use area maintenance.
- Work with the Fire Marshal and Health Department for required inspections.
Finance and Reporting
- Create a maintenance budget aligned with the annual NGCL budget.
- Monitor expenses and provide regular updates to the board of directors.
- Provide written monthly reports to the board of directors.
Additional Responsibilities
- Purchase equipment and parts within budget limits.
- Collaborate with NGCL volunteers to maintain positive working relationships.
- Submit short maintenance reports to the NGCL President as required.
- Participate in a mandatory onboarding process, including access to email and knowledge sharing with office administrators.
Qualifications
- Ability to recruit, coordinate, and supervise contractors and volunteers.
- Strong project management skills to organize and delegate work effectively.
- Familiarity with budget management processes.
- Satisfactory criminal record check required.
- First Aid certification is considered an asset.
- Trade or handyman skills,are considered an asset.
- Experience maintaining appliances and equipment is an asset.
