More about us

The Edmonton City as Museum Project (ECAMP) is an initiative of the Edmonton Heritage Council that uses stores to explore the history of Edmonton. Instead of acting as a physical museum with galleries and collections of objects, ECAMP is a virtual and floating entity that exists throughout Edmonton, offering online and in-person heritage experiences. Currently, ECAMP collects stories from the perspectives of  Edmontonians on what matters to them, with an emphasis on stories that have been excluded from representation of Edmonton’s history in the past. ECAMP also hosts events that bring people together to learn and experience the stories of Edmonton where they happened. These events include tours, pop-up museums, and presence at community events. Finally, ECAMP creates online, and in-person exhibits with community to explore relevant historical themes and experiences more in-depth.
