Neighborhood Bridges is a small business in Edmonton, AB. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will support people experiencing disability, trauma, addiction, and/ or mental health.. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Duties:

– Support people in their daily activities to live a life that makes sense to them.

-Follow support plans created with the person to develop the personal, social, human, financial, and service asset areas.

– Support people to have a personal, clean, and safe home

– Provide emotional support and companionship to promote overall well-being

– Assist with meal preparation as needed

– Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming when needed

– Administer medications as directed

– Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary

Experience:

– Previous experience supporting people through a trauma informed and anti-oppressive practice.

– Able to communicate fairly and directly with person, family, colleagues, and professionals

– Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

-Able to complete required documentation in a thoughtful and insightful manner and submit on time.

– Dedication to ongoing learning and curiosity.

– Fluent in written and spoken English

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50-$22.06 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week

Neighborhood Bridges is a Human Rights organization in Edmonton looking for self motivated, creative, and passionate people to fill Human Rights Worker and Supportive Roommate positions within our community, Successful applicants will support people with developmental disabilities to become actively involved in home life, education, employment, and social activities within their communities. There are also opportunities to participate in the agency’s community development work.
